Challenge
NYE needed one consumer surface that could hold prepaid wallet and RuPay Platinum card, UPI payments, NCMC transit, partner bank accounts, digital gold, and mutual funds — without reading like a pile of disconnected fintech features.
Approach
Framed the product as a financial operating layer for everyday money: spend, move, save, and invest — with security and compliance visible in the experience, not only in the fine print.
Designed payment journeys around Scan & Pay, UPI transfer, Autopay, and payment requests, with prepaid and NCMC states held in the same mental model.
Structured banking onboarding for Jana Savings and Current accounts as progress-led journeys, so unfinished account opening stayed recoverable instead of abandoned.
Brought investments into the same app grammar — digital gold vault and mutual fund baskets — so growth products did not feel like a second brand bolted on.
Kept trust cues close to money moments: biometric unlock, PIN recovery, and compliance signals (including PCI DSS / ISO framing) where users decide to continue.
Outcome
NYE ships on the web and on iOS and Android as Rapipay’s consumer finance product — wallet, card, UPI, banking, and investments in one place.
Prepaid and NCMC sit beside UPI actions, so metro and bus top-ups are part of the money system rather than a side utility.
Partner account opening, digital gold, and mutual funds share the product’s structure instead of splintering into separate apps.
