Context
Operators needed dynamic multimedia across retail, transit, and campus screens without waiting on each site’s Wi-Fi or IT approval. Existing deployment models stalled on local network dependency. The design job was the out-of-band kit + central portal experience — not inventing the entire telecom stack.
Audience
Campaign operators and field teams deploying media players; enterprise buyers evaluating turnkey signage without site IT friction.
Design objective
Clarify what already existed vs what I designed: HDMI media-player kit with embedded LTE, independent wireless campaign stream, and a cloud portal for alerts, scheduling, reboots, and screenshots.
Three decisions
Design the deployment model around a compact player + LTE kit so activation bypasses corporate Wi-Fi approvals — the decision that removed the main field friction.
Run campaign data on an out-of-band wireless path outside reseller IT, protecting internal bandwidth.
Central portal for scheduling, health alerts, remote reboot, and screenshot verification — operational command without truck rolls for every content swap.
